The natural SEO backlink solution is being revealed this weekend. The introduction and pre-launch of Social Bookmarking 101 is here. This backlink solution has been tested and is a tried and true method to get more traffic, backlinks, and better rankings for your site.

I had always been a skeptic of social bookmarking. I had done bookmarking, paid for bookmarking services and saw no real results. There is a huge difference between the word submissions and backlinks.

I also knew people who had their accounts closed and had their IP address banned from social bookmarking sites for using multiple accounts and automated social bookmarking software. I had tried to get friends to bookmark my site but found most people were lost at the first mention of bookmarking and backlinks.

I was fortunate enough to be introduced to several other people that were of like mind. They had sites they wanted to promote to increase their internet presence. These folks volunteered their time and effort to help each other by bookmarking each others sites.

I am truly grateful that they were willing to follow a specific format to test the bookmarking theory I had. Thanks to all of these folks it was evident in a short 3 week span that we truly were on to something. Thus Social Bookmarking 101 was born.

The results of this group that was 20 plus strong was phenomenal. By using the specific methods employed in Social Bookmarking 101 we were able to generate extremely targeted traffic, increase backlinks at a nice steady rate (just the way google loves it) and see many of our sites on the first page of google.

This group worked great, however to get the maximum effect we would need more members (right around 100). This would require setting up an easy to follow guide, videos, a way to manage members (this would include a way to weed out any slackers) a way to deliver assignments and of course a way to promote this to other like minded people who were willing to spend an hour a week helping others in order to help themselves.

The majority of this work has been done. That brings us to today. The official Pre-launch of Social Bookmarking 101. The kick off will be in mid June. The need for the pre – launch is to get 100 more members and provide them the tips and time to get their sites dialed in for the launch. The launch will not be announced on the internet.

The only way to be a part of the launch is by pre registering for Social Bookmarking 101. Assignments, launch date, tips and instructions will be delivered via e-mail. To pre-register for Social Bookmarking 101 go to:

http://www.socialbookmarking-101.com/prereg101.htm

In the previous post we examined some info on meta tags. The focus of the post was on optimizing your title tag of your site. This info is widely accepted and used by any SEO Company that is worth anything.

The description meta tag is useful as it is what will appear underneath the title of your title website when viewed on a search engine results page or SERP. Many SEO advocates do not agree with me on my methodology and thoughts on the description Meta tag.

While the Meta tag is a great place to make a quick pitch for your website, your website must first appear in the SERP’s. I do not use the description Meta Tag on the majority of my sites. Here is why.

The search engine will bold the keywords or search words you used when you performed your search. If you do not use the description tag google will use keywords and text from your webpage to fill in the description.

If you have good content on your page this will help you with both rankings and a description that meets the searchers request. Let’s go back to Mary. Her title is Artist Paint | Paint for Artist Free Shipping (See Natural SEO Title Meta Tags) Mary has provided quality content on her site.

She has sections dedicated to acrylic artist paint, oil artist paint, and watercolors for artist.

The description Meta tag should not exceed 160 characters. There is no way to provide a good description of all the artist paints on Mary’s website with 160 characters. Search Engines have become quite smart…. So why not let the search engine pick out the most relevant information from the page.

Advantage number 2 is that the keywords acrylic, oil and water are not in Mary’s title. If she lets the search engine fill in the description for her, has good content on her pages she is expanding the range of terms her site can be found when a prospective customer is searching for various artist paint.

Advantage 3: I have left the description tag on my site blank and then watched my site go from #3 to #1 on google. I also saw an increase in the range of keywords the website got page 1 rankings in.

The description Meta tag is not going to make or break your site in rankings: however I am a firm believer in using every advantage I can to get top rankings. The next post will cover the keyword Meta description. This is also a tag that my philosophy is different than many other SEO posts you will read. Till next time happy natural optimizing of your title and description Meta tags.

Natural SEO and on page optimization starts with meta tags. Meta tags are on the page behind the page you see when your website is viewed on your browser. These tags are very important in SEO.

There are a ton of tags you can use but we will only focus on the most important ones. They are:

•	Title

•	Description

•	Keywords

In earlier lessons we saw the per of your domain name (If you missed theses please read Natural SEO Domains and Natural SEO Domain Names Part 2 ) This is so important there are two parts.

The next most important aspect in on page optimization is your title tag. The title of your webpage should be very similar to your domain name if you are following the directions. Here is the best way I can explain this.

Think of the internet a huge library. To get to the library you will need to get in your vehicle to get there. This is google or the search engine of your choice. Your domain name gives you the address of the library.

Now you are at the library and need to find your book. The library functions based on the information of all the books being kept in a card catalog. You can find a book by topic in this catalog. This is exactly how a search engine works. The title of your webpage should be helpful in explaining the contents of your book.

The title of your webpage is seen in the search results and also in the top of the browser when the page is loaded. I have seen countless websites with the title of the webpage named home, default, or the name of the business.

This is terrible! Well if your business name is Coke a Cola, Ford or IBM you may want to use your business name in the title. If that is the case I doubt you would be reading this post.

Lets review the domains Mary chose for her business in Natural SEO Domain Names Part 2 Mary chose artistpaintus.com and artistpaintusa.com.

Mary is selling paint to artist and she will do shipping to customers. Her title should be something like:
<title>Artist Paint | Paint for Artist Free Shipping </title> (If Mary ships some orders for free)

The first word in the title is the most important, then 2cnd etc… You notice the keywords. Artist and Paint are used multiple times. The title also looks inviting.

I have given you some food for thought. Your title to your web page should be short and sweet. This is the most important meta tag so take your time and get it right.

I will address description and keyword meta tags in the next Natural SEO 101 post.

In the last Natural SEO 101 post I discussed high PR links. There is a lot to cover on this topic. The first and most misunderstood aspect of high PR links is based on incoming links and outgoing links.

Incoming Links Point to your site

Outgoing links Point outside of your site

There is a Huge SEO Myth pertaining to links

Incoming links are one of the best ways to help your natural SEO. High PR links and links from sites that are relevant to the topic or subject of your site are the best link building you can have. Future post of natural SEO link building will be dedicated to this.

Out going links are links on your page that take a visitor to different site. If you look in the right hand column of this blog you will see outbound links to hosting companies, domain buying services, blog and website creation software. These are outbound links.

These links serve a purpose that is relative to natural SEO and are good tolls for the reader to use. These links are to good trusted websites with high PR also. These links qualify as relevant high PR outbound links.

There is a huge SEO myth that having outbound links on your site take away from the PR and the SEO strength of your site. This is a SEO Myth. Having quality outbound links on your site is just the opposite. Lets look at a case in point using the old adage “Birds of a Feather Flock Together”

If my site is about accounting and I have out bound links to IRS information concerning accounting and tax laws pointing to the IRS site http://www.irs.gov/ it has a PR of 9. My association of having accounting and tax information and being linked to the IRS page helps establish my credibility in the eyes of the search engines.

Having this link on a natural SEO blog is not going to help me; however I certainly will not be penalized by it. The theory that outbound links on your site hurt you is the same philosophy that kept China secluded for centuries. When China opened up to the rest of the world its economy and production dramatically improved.

If you currently have subscribed to this SEO myth it is time to let it go. You do not want a site full of outbound links and be selective who you associate with and you can gain great natural SEO by strengthening your credibility and trust in the eyes of the search engines.

In the last Natural SEO 101 post we started to discuss backlinks and PR. PR is what google assigns to sites and blogs and stands for Page Rank. If you have not done the following you will need to in order to proceed with this natural SEO lesson.

Download Firefox Browser and a Google Toolbar.

You can find this at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html then download a google toolbar at: http://tools.google.com/tools/firefox/toolbar/FT3/intl/en/install.html

Make sure and enable page rank when you download the toolbar.

When you look at you google toolbar it will have an indicator of the Page Rank assigned to the page you are viewing. New sites with no backlinks start at zero. Ideally you want to get some one way backlinks form sites that have a high PR. High PR sites are spidered* by search engines often.

Spidered: This term refers to the search engines robot going through a site and looking for fresh content. Having your link on a site that is spidered often will get the spider to follow your link to your site. This in turn will help you to get your site indexed by the search engines. If your site is not indexed it can not be found in any searches, so this is the first objective we can achieve using your backlink.

There are as many ways to get a backlink on another website as you can think of. We want to find the easiest and fastest way to do this. Web 2.0 and social networking sites provide us the answer to this. Many social bookmarking sites have high PR and get spidered constantly. However many of them use “no follow tags” that keep the spider from following your link. I will have a future post on social bookmarking soon you will not want to miss.

One of the fastest ways to get a one way backlink from a very popular high PR site is place an advertisement for your business or service on Craigslist. This is not a long term backlink but is a great way to get your site indexed and also possibly get some business from your blog or website. After all the reason you want to promote your website or blog is to gain customers for your service or product.

The art of building good quality backlinks is what off page natural SEO is all about. This will be discussed in many posts on Natural SEO 101. For now get your new site listed on Craigslist and get indexed. Stay tuned for more natural SEO tips coming soon.

If you have decided on a blog or website and have your site up, even if it is just one page you need to get your site indexed. Indexing refers to getting the search engines to notice your site and list it.

You also need to start establishing some backlinks to your site. You can use one exercise to accomplish both of these objectives. Backlinks are the main form of off -page natural SEO. The sooner your site has a backlink the better. You will also want to show a steady growth of backlinks.

It may help if you know what a backlink is in order to accomplish this. A backlink is a link that points to your site from another website. This link pointing to your site is referred to in SEO as a backlink. There are a few basics you should know about these links. Some of them are based on.

One Way Backlink

Text Backlink

Backlink from High PR Site

A one way backlink is a link that points to your site or blog and you do not have a link pointing to the site your link is placed on. This is ideal. There are also reciprocal links. The name reciprocal is very descriptive, that is when you have a link on your site pointing to a site and they have a link pointing to yours. This is OK but not the target of Natural SEO.

A text backlink is the links you see usually blue and underlined on websites. Blogs usually have an underlined link and possibly an emblem next to them. Text backlinks are the target of good natural SEO. You would want to use your keyword such as Natural SEO this is much more powerful than http://www.naturalseo101.com

High PR sites are the ideal place to have a backlink. PR stands for Page Rank. This is a measure that google assigns the significance of a site. (This is based largely on the amount of backlinks, age of site and authority. I will have a post dedicated to PR in the future) You can use a google toolbar to find the PR of a website.

I strongly suggest that if do not have a Firefox Browser installed on your PC or Mac to download it now.

You can find this at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/upgrade.html then download a google toolbar at: http://tools.google.com/tools/firefox/toolbar/FT3/intl/en/install.html

Make sure and enable page rank when you download the toolbar.

You will need these often in future natural SEO lessons.

Using natural SEO on blogs is the fastest way to get your site ranking high. Therefore we will look at implementing natural SEO first and focus on natural SEO for websites. First we need to take a look at what will be required to make our blog rank high first.

You will need to use WordPress for your blog for this class

You will need to make a commitment to write 10 blog post

You will need to use some WordPress plug-ins to optimize your blog

This may sound like a lot of work, however if you follow the simple steps provided in natural SEO 101 you should have no problem.

The first thing you should do is point the Name Servers of your domain to your Host Gator account. All of the information you need is found at 1and1 and in the Cpanel of your Host Gator Account. It may take 24 hours for this to propagate. Don’t worry you have some fun and creative things you can do while waiting for this to happen.

You will need to pick a theme for your WordPress blog. The theme is the cosmetic layout that your blog will have. There are a few things you will want to make sure your them has built into it.

The sidebar should be on the right hand side

Make sure your theme has RSS on it.
(RSS is the symbol you see at the top of this post it can be any color)

Make sure you like the appearance of your blog
(you want to be proud of your blog)

You can find tons of Themes to choose from at: WordPress Themes if you have some Company logos or artwork you want to incorporate in your blog there is an easy way to do this. I like Einstein as you may be able to tell and could not find a Theme I wanted for this blog. I used this really cool product it comes with a Free Trial to see if you like it. It is called Artisteer You may want to check it out. I truly love this program.

Please take your time selecting or making your WordPress Theme. I will be gone for a few days as my Mother is having heart surgery. This should keep you busy with your Natural SEO blog until I return.

Natural SEO 101 is designed to you use natural SEO practices to gain high organic SEO rankings in search engines. The Free lessons of natural SEO are designed to take you from day one of starting your site.

The tips and techniques are based on natural SEO fundamentals that have been proven over time. While it is true that some SEO tactics are “Hot” at one time and may fade later the basics of natural SEO have survived the test of time. That is the main focus of this site.

Natural SEO 101 lessons will help you destroy SEO myths by delivering easy to understand lessons. The information you will learn here has been implemented on websites and blogs and is proven to deliver results.

The lessons in natural SEO 101 will often require you to do homework. Yes natural SEO is like everything else you experience in life. What you put into the homework…. Time effort and thought will have a direct correlation to the results you get. When reading these lessons you may note I often us e the phrase “I Strongly Suggest” The translation of this is very simple. If you do not take the suggestion do not expect to get the results you want.

You will see several links in the right side column of Natural SEO 101. All of the services and products listed are products that I have used with great results. I can be classified as a spendthrift person. These products and services deliver the most bang for the buck of any comparable products I have tried, and I have tried a lot.

On another note Natural SEO does not have to be a costly adventure. In the long haul it is much more cost effective than Pay Per Click Advertising. The tools I recommend are low cost tools that will help you achieve the highest ranks for your website in the shortest amount of time.

The last note about these tools is that if you use them I have tons of experience with them so if you have questions or need help using them I can provide you with support. If you use different tools I will not be able to provide the quality of support I would like to in helping you achieve high Natural SEO rankings.

I hope you not only read these lessons, but implement them and the techniques in them. It would be a true pleasure for me to be part of your online success. Best wishes in your natural SEO endeavors.

To Your Success,

Ken Fry

Having used natural SEO methods to pick a domain you now need to make a decision on weather you want to create a website or a blog. Both blogs and websites have distinct advantages.

To create an internet presence using natural SEO the fastest way to get high rankings is a blog. A website is the best way to advertise your services that reflect a professional internet presence. Website pages are also the best tool to make sales (in my opinion)

A blog can enable you to get high rankings fast and let customers and people interact with you and your company online. One of the requirements if you choose to have a blog is to be prepared to add content at least every three days. While this does require some work if you really know your business writing a blog post should not take you long.

If you choose to create a blog there is only one way to go in my opinion and that is to use WordPress. In some of the next classes I will go over the distinct advantages of using WordPress for Blogs.

If you choose to have a website you will need to build a website or have one designed. You can design a website with little to no training that will rank high. You need to weigh the impact of the graphics you want on your site. If you already have a good company logo and some quality pictures I strongly recommend building your own site.

Many of the tips in tricks you will learn here will depend on implementing the advice on your website or blog. For this reason it will not only save you money getting your site/blog up and running it will be key you have some knowledge of how to upload to your site in order to achieve high rankings.

The reality of natural SEO is this. If you really want to have high natural SEO rankings and get good traffic to your business you will want to have a blog and a website. You want to host your blog and website on different hosting companies. This may seem like a big investment however the ROI on high ranking websites and blogs is phenomenal.

This is food for thought. If you take this advice and I strongly advise it remember. Buy your domains at on source other than the hosting companies you use. I also recommend using Hostgator for Blogs and HostMonster for websites.

Stay tuned to Natural SEO 101 to find out why this advice is critical to your success.

OK – Now that you have used Natural SEO to make a Great selection for your domain name you will need to host this domain somewhere. You can get a lot of Bang for your Buck with Hosting or a pretty bogus deal.

The first thing I look for in hosting is a low cost dependable hosting provider.

The second thing I want is a host that I can have multiple domains on

Third the Host should use CPanel

Let me explain these points so you can see the benefits. First a host is where you website or blog is going to live. It is stored on a big computer called a server. I’m sure you have had a computer that crashed or ran poorly. This brings us to point one.

Dependability of your hosting service is crucial. If the host or server crashes your website will not be visible to anyone. This is not the big issue it used to be but it is still very important. My experience is the bigger companies are usually better for dependability.

The second point is can I host multiple domains on the host. This is something that can be very helpful down the road if you choose to use some of the natural SEO strategies I will be giving you. The other point is that you can get this feature from some hosting companies at super affordable prices – about a dollar or two a month more than an account limited to one domain.

I have signed up with hosting companies that advertise multiple domain hosting only to find out that they had additional cost for each domain – and yes you get to find this out after you sign up for your account. The best hosting companies I have used to date are Host Monster for websites and Host Gator for Blogs.

The third point is does the host have CPanel? CPanel is the user interface that allows you to do a lot of things in a very simple easy manner, some of these include:

Add e-mail accounts

Add Domains

Set Up Blogs

See visitor statistics

The next issue you need to decide is your domain going to be a blog or a website. Websites and blogs both have advantages. Tomorrow we will examine the best course of action for natural SEO using a blog or website.
